Thanks for supporting Massage and Me!

A year ago today I quit my job and started the idea for Massage and Me. Thanks for supporting me along the way!

One year later, and things are pretty amazing! Just shows that even a usually risk-averse person can take a leap of faith, let their instincts take over, and end up with a job they love. Thanks for supporting me, Team Massage and Me! Here's how I ended up here...

I'm not usually a huge risk-taker. Quitting my job without a plan B is not very 'me'. However, after deliberating it for months, perhaps years, my husband and I had a weekend away and something triggered me to come back to reality with a renewed sense of focus. I had worked the busy London life for about 10 years and I no longer found it exciting, fast-paced and exhilarating. That's not to say every city job is horrendous, and I'm not encouraging everyone to quit their jobs! Mine had just changed and it just wasn't for me any longer.

So, instead of continuing to talk about how I'd love a career change, I decided to just do it. Gulp! The next steps would be the most interesting; the months that would shape my career as a Massage Therapist.

I studied my ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Massage at London School of Massage and I cannot recommend it enough. I made some lovely friends through my course and all the staff were so supportive. I loved how so many of my classmates had a similar story to me - had reached their 30s/40s/50s, were not keen on their jobs and decided to take control to embark on a new, happier, life.

One year later and one ITEC course, two advanced courses, several exams, numerous assignments, hundreds of practise hours and a whole lot of anatomy and physiology books further on, here I am. I'm so happy I took the plunge and now get to wake up looking forward to my day ahead and excited to meet all of you who I am lucky enough to massage. Thanks for supporting me!

I'm really not a cheesy-story-type person, so I'll stop before this turns into (even more of) a cringey blog post. Once again, thank you for your support. If you are ever thinking of your own career change, we can chat whilst you enjoy a massage and be true efficient females. Kapow!

In the meantime, I'm excited to say that, from January 2017 onwards, I'll be going full-time! So booking times will be:

Monday 8am - 8pm
Tuesday 8am - 8pm
Thursday 8am - 8pm
Saturday 8am - 6pm

Thanks again for all your support and hope to see you soon,
Jo x
